Terms of service

Clipped — Terms & Conditions

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to every trip operated by Clipped Experience LLC ("Clipped," "we," "us"). By paying a deposit or otherwise confirming a booking, you ("the guest") confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms on your own behalf and on behalf of anyone you book for.

We've tried to keep them clear and fair. If anything here is unclear, write to us at info@clippedexperience.com before you book — we're happy to talk it through.

  • Trip means any Clipped cycling experience, including its rides, accommodation, meals, transfers and activities as described on the trip page or brochure.

  • Start date means the first official day of the trip as listed in your booking confirmation.

2. Bookings and payments

Only payment of the full trip price guarantees your place. When you book, we'll agree a payment date with you; until full payment is received, your place is not secured and may be offered to another rider. Once paid in full, you'll receive a written booking confirmation.

  • Prices are per person, in US dollars, based on a shared double room. Single rooms are available on request at an additional cost, subject to availability.

  • Each trip page or brochure lists what is and isn't included. Unless stated otherwise, flights, travel insurance, bike rental, visas, personal expenses and gratuities are not included.

  • Groups are kept small (typically up to 12 riders), so places are limited and allocated in order of confirmed booking.

  • Accommodation may change depending on availability, but any substitute will be of the same or higher category.

  • Fees charged by payment providers (card or transfer fees) are not refundable.

3. Cancellation by the guest

We understand plans change. To cancel, email info@clippedexperience.com — the cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your email, and refunds are based on how far that date is from the trip's start date:

Notice before the start date

Refund

90 days or more

Everything you've paid, minus payment processing fees

31 to 89 days

Everything you've paid, minus a cancellation fee of 30% of the trip price and payment processing fees

30 days or less

No refund

  • No-shows. If you don't arrive for the trip, or arrive after it has started, this is treated as a cancellation with 30 days or less notice: no refund is due.

  • Leaving early or missing parts of the trip. No refund is given for unused days, rides, meals, accommodation or services, whatever the reason.

  • Transferring your place. You may ask to transfer your booking to another rider. Transfers need our written approval, the new rider must accept these terms, and any extra costs (such as name changes with suppliers) are your responsibility.

  • Refund timing. Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method within 30 days.

  • Any credit, transfer to a future trip or other exception is at Clipped's sole discretion and is not guaranteed.

We strongly recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover, so that an unexpected illness or emergency doesn't leave you out of pocket.

4. Changes or cancellation by Clipped

We scout every route carefully, but riding in the mountains and remote regions means conditions can change. Our guides may adjust routes, distances, daily schedules, activities or accommodation at any time for safety, weather, road conditions or other operational reasons. These adjustments are part of the experience and do not entitle guests to a refund.

  • If we cancel a trip for reasons within our control, or because the minimum group size of 4 riders is not reached, we will refund 100% of what you have paid to Clipped, or offer a place on another trip if you prefer.

  • We will try to give at least 30  days' notice of any cancellation.

  • We are not responsible for costs you have paid to others — such as flights, visas, extra hotel nights or insurance — so we recommend booking flexible or refundable options.

5. Health, fitness and your responsibilities

Health and fitness declaration. By booking, you confirm that you are in good health and have the physical fitness and cycling experience needed to ride consecutive days of long distances and significant climbing, including at high altitude, on paved and unpaved roads. You understand that some Clipped trips reach elevations where altitude sickness is possible.

  • We recommend consulting your doctor before booking, especially for trips at altitude.

  • You agree to tell us before the trip about any medical condition, injury, medication, allergy or dietary need that could affect your participation or safety. This information is kept confidential and shared only with those who need it to look after you.

  • Our guides may ask you to rest, ride in the support vehicle or stop riding if they believe continuing would put you or others at risk. Their decision is final and does not entitle you to a refund.

Travel insurance. Travel insurance is required for every guest and is not provided by Clipped. Your policy must cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation (including from high altitude and remote areas) and cycling activities. We also strongly recommend cancellation cover. We may ask for proof of insurance before the trip.

Equipment. If you bring your own bike, it must be in good mechanical condition and suitable for the terrain described for your trip. A helmet must be worn at all times while riding.

Travel documents. You are responsible for valid passports, visas, vaccinations and any entry requirements for each destination.

Conduct. You agree to follow guides' instructions and local traffic laws, and to respect fellow riders, local communities and the environment. We may remove a guest whose behavior is unsafe or seriously disruptive, without refund.

6. Assumption of risk and release of liability

Cycling — especially multi-day riding in mountains, at altitude and in remote areas — carries inherent risks that no amount of planning can remove. These include traffic, uneven or unpaved surfaces, gravel, descents, changing weather, altitude, mechanical failure, animals, the actions of other riders and road users, and distance from medical care.

  • You take part voluntarily and accept these risks on your own behalf. Before each trip, you will also sign Clipped's separate liability waiver, which forms part of your booking.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Clipped, its owners, employees, guides and representatives from any claim for injury, illness, death, or loss of or damage to property arising from your participation in a trip, except where caused by Clipped's gross negligence or willful misconduct.

  • Hotels, restaurants, transport companies and other local partners are independent suppliers. Clipped is not responsible for their acts or omissions.

  • In an emergency, you authorize Clipped's team to arrange medical treatment or evacuation on your behalf. Any resulting costs are your responsibility (or your insurer's).

  • You are responsible for your personal belongings, including your bike and equipment, throughout the trip.

  • Where liability cannot be excluded, Clipped's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the trip.

7. Your information, photos and marketing

How we use your information. We collect the details needed to run your trip — such as your name, contact details, passport information, emergency contact, and health or dietary notes — and share them only with the guides, hotels and transport partners who need them to deliver the trip. We do not sell your personal information.

Marketing. By booking, you agree that Clipped may use your contact details to send you news about upcoming trips, events and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by writing to info@clippedexperience.com.

Photos, video and testimonials. A professional photographer travels with many of our trips, and we love sharing the stories our riders create. By booking, you grant Clipped permission to use photos, video and recordings taken during the trip in which you appear, along with your first name and any feedback or testimonial you share, on our website, social media, brochures, advertising and other commercial materials, without compensation and with no time limit.

If you'd prefer not to appear in our materials, just email us before the trip and we'll respect that. For full details on how we handle your data and your rights, see our [Privacy Policy].

8. General

Events beyond our control. Clipped is not liable for delays, changes or cancellations caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, epidemics, government restrictions, border closures or civil unrest. In these cases we will do our best to offer an alternative date or trip.

Minimum age. All guests must be at least 18 years old.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you book applies to your booking.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of the State of New York.

Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
